Midtown Toronto family, divorce & immigration lawyer

Before starting my own practice, I was an associate with an established family lawyer in Newmarket, Ontario. Here, I gained significant experience of advocacy and negotiation in matters related to child custody, access, support and property division. I graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and articled with Legal Aid Ontario with rotations at the Refugee Law Office, the Family Law Service Centre (Toronto). After being called to the Ontario Bar, I was a Staff Lawyer with Legal Aid in Milton, Ontario, where I worked as Duty Counsel, providing both in-court representation, as well as advice and document drafting assistance to self-represented litigants in child protection and domestic matters.

I am on the Board of the Family Lawyers Association, as well as serving on the Executive of the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association. I am also a member of the Refugee Lawyers Association.

Prior to embarking on my legal career, I earned an undergraduate degree in French summa cum laude from Yale University in 1995 and a doctorate in European Literature from Oxford University in 2000. I was an Associate Professor of French at University College London in the United Kingdom from 2000 until 2011, when I returned to Toronto to attend law school at the University of Toronto.

I am a mother of two sons. I enjoy walking in Toronto’s ravines and attending choral concerts with my husband.
